Tennis player Serena Williams joked about her victories over Sharapova with a song
American tennis player Serena Williams made fun of Russian Maria Sharapova at the ESPY Awards ceremony, Puntodebreak reports.
The athlete performed a humorous song about Sharapova. “She could be my tennis ball. She’s a very tall Russian blonde. People say we have a feud and we’re rude to each other,” Williams sang, adding that she had defeated the Russian 20 times.
Earlier, Sharapova explained why Serena Williams hates her. She recalled that she caught her opponent at an inopportune moment – in the locker room after the Wimbledon final in 2004, when the American was crying.
In total, Williams had 23 meetings with Sharapova, and the American won 20 of them. The Russian announced her retirement in February 2020, but the American continues to compete at a professional level.
