Former coach of the Russian national team Ignatyev: Spain and England have equal chances in the Euro final
The Spanish and English national teams have equal chances to win the Euro 2024 final, according to former Russian national football team coach Boris Ignatyev. In a conversation with Lenta.ru, he spoke about the teams’ readiness for the final match of the tournament.

“The Spanish team is preferable in terms of creative impulse. This team’s game is more structured, more productive, and, I would even say, more watchable for gourmets. But if we talk about the end result, this team has the best structured group interactions. These interactions are primarily invested in good playing skills and speed,” he said.
At the same time, it will be difficult for England to compete with such an opponent, the source of Lenta.ru believes.
“The England team is heavy. It is probably very difficult to counter the Spanish team today. Maybe it is the order, the individual skill of certain players, but in terms of realizing the team’s aspirations, I give the advantage to the Spaniards,” he concluded.
Spain and England will meet at the Olympiastadion in Berlin for the final match of Euro 2024 on July 14. The game will kick off at 10 pm Moscow time.
On July 9, Spain beat France 2-1 in the semi-finals. The match between the other semi-finalists, England and the Netherlands, ended with the same result, where the English beat their opponents in the last minutes.
