Atlético de Madrid revealed its new kit for the 2024/25 season on Thursday. The Spanish club returned to using its original 1947 crest and paid further homage to its history on the shirt for next year. The kit of the 1996 team, which won the Spanish Championship and the Spanish Cup, was honored.

Combining tradition and modernity, the new shirt features a blue collar and parallel red and blue lines running vertically across the shirt, interspersed between the traditional thick red and white stripes. The lines represent the 1996 season, in particular, the shirt that was worn in that season’s Copa del Rey final against Barcelona.
The match against Barça took place on April 10, 1996. Atlético de Madrid were crowned champions of the Spanish Cup with a goal from Milinko Pantic. The Madrid team later won the Spanish Championship, beating Albacete 2-0 in the last round, with goals from Kiko and Diego Simeone, the club’s current coach.
Atlético de Madrid’s new jersey will hit the club’s official stores this Friday. The uniform will be available in fan and player versions, the model that the athletes wear on the field. Prices range from 100 to 150 euros, around 590 to 880 reais.
