Malyshev stated that Spartak discussed joint initiatives with priests
Spartak General Director Oleg Malyshev named the reason for the meeting between the team management and the priests. His words are quoted by Sport24.
According to him, the team is friends with the rector of the church, which was built near the stadium of the red-and-whites. “Colleagues initiated a meeting in order to discuss joint initiatives in terms of possible historical excursions and other events that we could do,” Malyshev said.
The meeting between Spartak management and priests became known on July 1. In addition to Malyshev, the Muscovites were represented at the meeting by manager Nikita Bazhenov and the head of the Spartak academy Sergei Rodionov.
Spartak took fifth place in the national championship last season. The last time the red-and-whites won the Russian Premier League was in 2017.
