Tennis player Rybakina defeats Ukrainian Svitolina and reaches Wimbledon semifinals
Kazakhstan’s Elena Rybakina defeated Ukraine’s Elina Svitolina in the quarterfinals of the 2024 Wimbledon tournament in London. The results are available on the tournament website.
The match lasted one hour and one minute and ended with a score of 6:3, 6:2 in favor of the 25-year-old athlete. Thus, Rybakina reached the semifinals of Wimbledon, where she will meet Barbora Krejcikova.
Rybakina is a native of Moscow. Until 2018, she represented Russia in competitions. In the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) ranking, Rybakina occupies the fourth position. Svitolina is in the 30th place.
Earlier, Svitolina shook hands with Rybakina after the fourth round match at Roland Garros. At the same time, Ukrainian athletes do not greet other Russian tennis players.
