Spain beats France in lightning comeback to qualify for Euro Cup final

On Tuesday, in a match valid for the semi-final of the European Championship, Spain faced France at the Munich Football Arena, won 2-1 with a historic comeback in four minutes and secured access to the final of the continental tournament. Lamine Yamal and Dani Olmo scored for the Spanish team, while Kolo Muani reduced the deficit for the French.

Spain have therefore qualified for the final, where they will face the winner of the match between the Netherlands and England, which will take place this Tuesday at 4pm (Brasília time) at the BVB Stadion Dortmund. On the other side, France said goodbye to the European Championship.

The final will take place next Sunday at 4pm at the Olympic Stadium in Berlin. France will only return to the pitch on September 6th, against Italy, in the first round of the Nations League group stage.

The score was opened by France just eight minutes into the first half. After a pass from Dembélé, Mbappé controlled the ball on the left wing and crossed to the far post for Kolo Muani, who rose higher than defender Laporte and headed the ball in to score.

Spain equalized in the 21st minute of the first half. Lamine Yamal took advantage of a rebounded ball in the middle of the field, cut to his left and hit a beautiful shot, into the right corner of goalkeeper Maignan’s goal, who could do nothing.

In the 25th minute of the first half, Spain turned the game around. Jesús Navas crossed from the right and the defense cleared it, but the ball ended up at the feet of Dani Olmo, inside the area. The midfielder dribbled past Tchouaméni, shot and, before it went in, Koundé deflected it, but was unable to prevent the goal that guaranteed the victory and Spain’s qualification.
