Manchester United have accepted a bid for England striker Mason Greenwood from Olympique Marseille on Tuesday. According to The Athleticthe only things left for the deal to go through are the player’s contractual terms.
Greenwood has attracted strong interest in this transfer window due to his successful loan spell at Getafe in Spain last season, which saw the forward score ten times in 36 appearances. In addition to Marseille, who are leading the race for the player, Juventus, Napoli, Borussia Dortmund and Benfica were also among the other big clubs in the running.

According to the same source, Olympique’s deal for the 22-year-old is worth €31.6 million (around R$185 million at the current exchange rate), including bonuses, as well as a percentage of a possible future sale to Manchester United. He is expected to sign with the French club until 2029.
Greenwood has not represented United since he was arrested in 2022, accused of domestic assault by his girlfriend. Following the incident, which ended with the charges being dropped and Mason being released, the Manchester club chose not to integrate him back into the squad, taking a while to find buyers.
“For sure Mason is a world-class player. I don’t know about his background. No matter who the player is, once they sign here they become like my sons, I will always protect them,” new Olympique Marseille coach Roberto De Zerbi said recently about the Englishman’s potential signing.
