Cherchesov: I will support holding a friendly match between Russia and Kazakhstan
Former coach of the Russian national football team, who now heads the national team of Kazakhstan, Stanislav Cherchesov, assessed the idea of holding a friendly match between the national teams. His words are quoted by Match TV.
Cherchesov said he would support the idea. “Playing with the Russian national team is a good thing. Another thing is what their plans are, what our plans are, what opportunities, what period, where… A lot of things. But like this, please, if there is such an opportunity, why not play,” the specialist noted.

On June 3, it was announced that Cherchesov had been appointed head coach of the Kazakhstan national team. The length of the contract and financial terms were not disclosed.
From 2016 to 2021, Cherchesov was the head coach of the Russian national team. Together with him, the team reached the quarterfinals of the 2018 World Cup at home.
