Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton wins Formula 1 British Grand Prix
British Mercedes pilot Lewis Hamilton won the home stage of the Formula 1 Grand Prix. This was reported by a Lenta.ru correspondent.
Hamilton finished first after 52 laps at Silverstone. The seven-time Formula 1 champion won for the first time since 2021, when he set the fastest result at the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix.
The reigning world champion, Dutch Red Bull driver Max Verstappen, took second place in the race. Another Briton, Lando Norris from McLaren, rounded out the top three.
On February 1, it became known that Hamilton would be moving from Mercedes to Ferrari. The athlete will join the new team in 2025 and will earn 50 million euros per year.
The British pilot has represented Mercedes since 2013, and as part of the team he has become the Formula 1 champion six times. Hamilton also won another title with McLaren.
