Juan Luis Anangonó will play the Guatemalan soccer final

Comunicaciones, the Ecuadorian forward’s club, left Municipal on the road, in goalless duels in the semifinals. Malacateco, next rival.

The Ecuadorian forward Juan Luis Anangonó will play with the Comunicaciones club in the final of the Guatemalan League, after the creams left on the road to Municipal on Sunday night, in a series of semifinals that ended without goals and was defined according to the classification of the regular period of the championship.

Anangonó, one of Comunicaciones’ scorers and decisive in previous rounds of the 2021 Apertura tournament postseason, was from the opening whistle on the field of the Doroteo Guamuch Flores stadium, in Guatemala City. The local team equaled without goals with Municipal, the same result as in the first leg. The creams won the series for best placement in the previous phase; they were second classified, only behind Antigua GFC.

According to the minute by minute of the Communications website, Anangonó had a scoring chance at the dawn of the game on Sunday when he combined with Jorge Aparicio. Also at minute 85, the Ecuadorian appeared again in danger with a header cleared by the rival defense.

Comunicaciones will dispute the title with Malacateco, which beat Antigua. The first leg of the definition will be on Wednesday, December 29, while the second leg will be played on Sunday, January 2, 2022 at the home of creams.

This December, Anangonó was a hero twice the same week by scoring the only goal with which his club made it to the semifinals of the Guatemalan League, four days after scoring a hat trick that gave the creams the Concacaf League title.

The Ecuadorian attacker was hired by his current team in July for Apertura 2021. He previously played for Bolivian Blooming.

Anangonó was champion of Ecuador with Liga de Quito in 2018; that domestic campaign had 35 performances and scored 16 goals, being the main gunner of the university students and the sixth best in the contest. He was in the Albo club from 2014 to 2019.

According to records from the Ecuadorian Soccer Federation, the tricolor striker made the minor divisions at Barcelona Sporting Club, a team with which he debuted in first place on September 16, 2007, at the Clásico del Astillero.
