Plushenko said he is ready to compete with Yagudin for ten million rubles
Two-time Olympic figure skating champion Evgeni Plushenko named the amount needed to hold a competition with Olympic champion Alexei Yagudin. His words are quoted by RIA Novosti.
Plushenko said he was ready to compete with Yagudin for ten million rubles. “If there are people willing to pay, you will definitely see me on the ice,” he emphasized, adding that he was restoring the triple axel for this purpose.
On March 9, Yagudin won the Russian Challenge show program tournament for the second time in a row. He received five million rubles as a prize. After that, information appeared that a rivalry between Yagudin and Plushenko was possible in the next season of show programs.
Yagudin won the 2002 Olympics in singles skating. Plushenko won silver at the same competition. He later won gold in the individual event at the 2006 Olympics and in the team event at the 2014 Games.
