Erik Ten Hag renews with Manchester United until 2026

Dutch coach Erik Ten Hag has extended his contract with Manchester United until 2026, the English club announced on Thursday (4).

The manager’s future was in doubt after finishing eighth in the Premier League, but Ten Hag won the FA Cup in a final against great rivals Manchester City (2-1).

The 54-year-old former Ajax coach, whose contract was due to expire in 2025, now runs until June 2026.

The British press had already announced that he would remain at the club.

Although United remain the team with the most Premier League titles, with 20, the ‘Red Devils’ have not won the competition since 2013, following the departure of legendary manager Alex Ferguson.

City have since won seven titles, taking their total to 10, including four consecutive Premier League titles since 2021.

Ten Hag took charge of Manchester United in 2022, and ended a six-year drought by winning the League Cup in 2023.
