The defenses Irene Paredes (FC Barcelona) and Oihane Hernandez (Real Madrid) and the forward line Lucia Garcia (CF Monterrey) will compete in the 2024 Paris Olympics with the selection of Spainafter having been confirmed, this Wednesday, by the Spanish team’s coach, Montse Tomé, in the final call for the tournament. The Spanish team, which is in Group C of the Olympic Games, will make its debut on 25 July in Bordeaux against Japan. On 28 July in Nantes, it will play Nigeria, and on 31 July, again in Bordeaux, it will face Brazil. The quarter-finals will take place on 3 August, with the semi-finals on 6 August; the match for the bronze medal is scheduled for 9 August, and the Olympic final will be played on 10 August.
In addition to Paredes, Oihane Hernández, Lucía García and Lete, these are the other players who are part of the list drawn up by Tomé: Cata Coll and Misa, as goalkeepers; Ona Batlle, Aleixandri, Olga and Codina, in the defensive line; Patri, Teresa, Aitana, Alexia and Jenni Hermoso, in the midfield; and, as forwards, Athenea, Paralluelo, Mariona and Eva Navarro. Redondo, Méndez and Vicky are reserves.
