Raphinha and Marquinhos represent Brazil in the Copa América team of the round

Despite a disappointing draw against Colombia, Brazil named two players in the Copa América squad for the third round, which was announced on Wednesday. Raphinha and Marquinhos were selected.

Raphinha opened the scoring in the match with a beautiful free kick goal, the first for the Brazilian team since 2019, after just 12 minutes of play. Marquinhos, according to Sofa Scoremade five tackles, won all ground duels (6/6) and completed 82% of his passes (47/57).

Colombia also had two representatives in the team. Right-back Daniel Muñoz, who scored the equalizer that secured the Colombians first place in the group, and midfielder James Rodríguez, who was also named the best player of the round for the third consecutive time, were selected.

Brazil’s opponents in the round of 16, defender Ronald Araújo and midfielder Manuel Ugarte represented Uruguay in the team of the week.

Lautaro Martínez, who became the competition’s top scorer with both goals scored in Argentina’s 2-0 victory over Peru, was the only Argentine in the lineup.
