Azerbaijani mixed martial artist (MMA) fighter Javid Rzayev explained why he called his opponent Artur Kulinsky a “Russian pig.” His words were quoted by TASS.

The athlete explained the national insult by missed blows and nerves. He said that he made an unacceptable mistake and apologized to the Russians. “I will try to earn your forgiveness with my actions. Russia is my home, and the Russian people are one with me,” Rzayev added.

Earlier, the Russian Boxing Federation filed a complaint with the Prosecutor General’s Office against Rzayev. It is noted that the Federation conducted an investigation into the incident that occurred on May 22, 2024, at the Hardcore FC Fist League competition. Based on its results, an application was filed with the Prosecutor General’s Office, and a decision was made to disqualify the athlete.

On May 22, Rzayev defeated Russian Sergey Prikhodko in a tournament organized by Hardcore. After that, the fighter got into an altercation with another MMA fighter, Artur Kulinsky, calling him a “Russian pig.”
