O Santos The Italian club has agreed to sell left-back Lucas Pires to Burnley in England on Tuesday. The deal is valued at around 2.5 million euros (R$15.3 million at the current exchange rate). The information comes from Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano.
Burnley, recently relegated to England’s second tier, will pay Santos, in addition to the 2.5 million euros, a fee under the sell-on clause. The 23-year-old Brazilian underwent a medical at his new club on Tuesday.
Lucas Pires played for Cádiz in Spain last season. The full-back was loaned to the Spanish club by Santos, for whom he scored one goal in 30 matches.

The player was signed by Santos while still in the youth ranks. He completed almost his entire training process at Corinthians, where he played from 2009 until 2021 – when he agreed to move to Peixe.
Lucas Pires made his professional debut for Santos in February 2022. That season, the full-back managed to stand out and played 42 matches, recording four assists.
In May 2022, Lucas Pires renewed his contract with Santos until May 2026. In July 2023, Alvinegro decided to loan him to Spanish football.
