On Wednesday, July 3, the Tour de France 2024 will come down from the mountains to compete in a flat stage in the Fifth stage of the edition. The cyclists will leave from Saint Jean de Maurienne to cover 177.4 kilometers and end in Saint VulbasThe race will start at 13:20 and the first runners are expected to cross the finish line at around 17:16.
The stage will be flat almost entirely, with only two fourth category mountain passesso it will be difficult for anyone to surprise or escape from the pack.
The cyclists will cover just over 100 kilometres before reaching the first of the two ports, that of White Horse. It will be a short climb, 1.5 km, with a gradient of 4.3%. From there, they will go down the altitude to the port of LhuisThe latter is twice as long as the previous one and has a gradient of 4.8%, but should not be an obstacle for the favourites.
