Striker Igor Thiago was announced this Monday as the new signing for Brentford, who play in the Premier League in England. The new number nine is the first Brazilian in history to play for the club.
Igor is 23 years old and played for Cruzeiro from 2020 to 2022. There, he played 65 games and scored ten goals, without winning any titles. The striker spent last season playing for Club Brugge, where he was Belgian champion and an important part in the team’s title, being the competition’s top scorer with 18 goals in 34 matches.

According to the English media, the center forward’s transaction value is around 33 million euros (around R$200 million at the current exchange rate), triple the amount paid by Club Brugge to Ludogorets in July 2023.
“I’m delighted to have signed for Brentford and to have had the opportunity to get to know the club. It’s a huge source of happiness for me to be able to play for this club in the Premier League. I’m really looking forward to it,” said Igor.
