Portugal x Slovenia: see likely lineups and where to watch the Eurocup match

Another place in the quarter-finals of the European Championship will be decided this Monday. Portugal will face Slovenia at 4 pm (Brasília time), at Deutsche Bank Park, in Frankfurt.

The confrontation already took place this year, in a friendly. On that occasion, the Slovenians beat the Portuguese 2-0. The match will be broadcast exclusively on CazéTVno Youtube.

Portugal comes into the match motivated by their campaign in the group stage. The team won their first two games and only failed to achieve a 100% success rate due to their defeat against surprising Georgia, without their starters.

“I can say that after three games the team is ready. A new tournament starts now: it’s in or out. It’s not easy to play in the Euros, but as a team we are prepared to face this knockout phase. Many teams have character and believe they can win. Each game depends on small details. Slovenia is like that. They are organized and competitive. We need to be at our best,” said coach Roberto Martínez.

On the other side, Slovenia advanced as one of the best third-placed teams. The team drew all group stage games.

“I see Portugal as one of the favourites to win the tournament. We are not favourites against them, but we are happy to be able to compete. Finally, Slovenia is witnessing the euphoria of football. The fans here in Germany and back home are cheering for us. I don’t need to shield the players from that. Every match fills them with energy,” said coach Matjaz Kek.
