The match started evenly, with both teams looking for victory. In the 27th minute of the first half, Gabriel Suazo was sent off and left Chile with one less. The left-back stopped Canada’s counterattack with a foul from behind on Richie Laryea and received a second yellow card.
In the final stage, despite being at a numerical disadvantage, Chile tried to apply pressure and Canada managed the match. In a busy second half, the teams created some opportunities, but failed to score.
Towards the end of the game, in the 45th minute, Canada managed to score a goal, with Tani Oluwaseyi, but the goal was disallowed for offside. Thus, the match ended in a goalless draw.
