Rodnina said that Russian athletes can go to the 2024 Olympics
Three-time Olympic champion in figure skating, State Duma deputy Irina Rodnina appreciated the desire of Russian athletes to go to the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. Her words are quoted by “Championship”.
Rodnina spoke about her compatriots’ decision with the phrase: “Why not?” – saying they could go to the Games. She drew attention to the fact that the decision is made by local federations, since athletes cannot simply go to the Games. The deputy added that the decision of the international federations comes next.
Earlier it became known that Russian judokas refused to participate in the 2024 Olympics. The reason was the admission conditions from the International Olympic Committee, due to which out of 17 judokas who received an Olympic rating, only four were allowed to participate in the Olympics.
The 2024 Olympics will be held in Paris from July 26 to August 11. Russians and Belarusians are allowed to compete as individual neutral athletes
