It became known about a possible violation of German law by 16-year-old Yamal
16-year-old Spanish footballer Lamin Yamal will break German law in the event of overtime in the match between Spain and Georgia at Euro 2024. Telegram.hr writes about this.
“I don’t know the German law. Should we take Yamal off the field before 11 p.m.? I don’t think so,” said Spanish national team head coach Luis de la Fuente.
Under German law, people under 18 are prohibited from working after 8:00 p.m. Athletes are on the list of people whose working hours have been extended until 11:00 p.m. But even that won’t be enough for 16-year-old Yamal if the Euro 2024 round of 16 match between Spain and Georgia goes into overtime. Yamal won’t be disqualified, but the Spanish Football Federation could theoretically be fined 30,000 euros.
Earlier it became known that Yamal became the youngest football player in the history of the European Championships. At the time of his appearance on the field in the meeting between Spain and Croatia in the group stage, he was 16 years and 338 days old.
