Senator Pushkov: UEFA is destroying football with technology
The Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) is destroying football with an abundance of technology, said Senator Alexey Pushkov. The Federation Council member wrote about this on his Telegram channel.
“UEFA is destroying football by constantly, almost every other match, canceling goals due to a heel being offside. UEFA should hold competitions not for people, but for robots. These bureaucrats clearly want people to behave with computer precision, like androids,” the publication says.
Pushkov called for going further and replacing judges with artificial intelligence, and with them the UEFA leaders. “It will definitely be smarter,” the senator concluded.
The Federation Council member made his post during the 1/8 final match of the European Championship between Germany and Denmark. The tournament hosts won with a score of 2:0, with goals scored by Kai Havertz and Jamal Musiala. In the 48th minute, the referee, with the help of VAR, cancelled the goal of the Danish national team player Joakim Andersen.
