Honored coach of the USSR Tarasova: we have no other profession and no other life
Honored figure skating coach of the USSR Tatyana Tarasova stood up for the Russians who decided to go to the Olympics. She is quoted by “Championship”.
“I know that someone condemns Russian athletes for their participation. They don’t understand that this is our profession, our life? We have no other profession and no other life,” Tarasova said.
She added that she plans to follow the competition in Paris. According to Tarasova, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) acted unfairly by not allowing some Russians to participate.
Earlier, Tarasova shamed traveler Fedor Konyukhov for criticizing Russian forward of the National Hockey League (NHL) club Washington Capitals Alexander Ovechkin. Konyukhov admitted that he does not respect the hockey player for playing in the United States and will not shake his hand. “How can you not be ashamed? Konyukhov apparently does not understand that times have changed, our hockey players play all over the world and glorify our homeland,” Tarasova said.
