Zbigniew Boniek failed. I think he forgot to ask a question about Sousa

Zbigniew Boniek often says that human resources are the problem of Polish football. In his opinion, there is a lack of competent and strong people to perform the most important functions. Meanwhile, as CEO, he has fallen in resource management. For the last two selectors, he chose coaches completely unsuitable for this. Jerzy Brzęczek lacked competences – mainly the soft ones. Paulo Sousie ran out of the principles he talked about so much – loyalty and responsibility.

Zbigniew Boniek allowed Paulo Sousa to do anything

Cezary Kulesza announced that he wanted to terminate the contract with the Polish Football Association. The president assessed his behavior as extremely irresponsible and inconsistent with earlier declarations. Therefore, he did not accept the Portuguese’s proposal. This, however, does not solve the problem and it is difficult to imagine a scenario in which, however, Sousa stays in the position and leads Poland in the March play-offs.

It is known that the Portuguese has much worse contact with than with Bonek, who chose him and had a nice talk in Italian. But the reasons for such termination of Sousa’s relationship with the national team should be sought not in the last weeks, but a year ago, when he signed the contract. He could do anything: live in Portugal, come to Poland only for training camps, not include a Polish coach in the staff, not be immersed in this environment on the occasion of visits to league matches. There was no control over Sousa. One can only guess what occupied him more in the last few days: preparations for the play-offs or analyzing the Flamengo line-up. Zbigniew Boniek made a mistake, leaving him so much freedom. Sousa turned out to be an untrustworthy man.

Paulo Sousa was saying goodbye to the Girondins of Bordeaux under similar circumstances

Except that all of this was to be expected. when he asked about Sousa he heard it was “top”. But he obviously didn’t ask about things like loyalty, honor, and honesty. If he had called Bordeaux, the club that Sousa trained before taking over the Polish national team, he would have had deja-vu. Everything that we are following from behind the Christmas table was already played in France in August 2020. Marcin Jabłoński, a Bordeaux fan, disappointed with Sousa’s work, wrote him a farewell letter. He mentioned that Sousa made a great impression on all the fans at the beginning. He was articulate, cultured and told about football beautifully. But then there were poor results and an even worse goodbye.

“The pandemic came, you sat quietly for three months, the paycheck was credited to your account and in the first few days after your return you found yourself exhausted. Tired of the atmosphere in the club, no transfers. Really, Paulo? You don’t want to be our team’s coach anymore, you want to quit, nobody fired you and we still have to pay you for it?

Sousa’s agent has also denied talks with Brazilian clubs in recent days, although the Portuguese has probably negotiated with and with Internacional. Hugo Cajudzie should be congratulated, however. Such an agent’s job. Although Sousa finished Euro already in the group, he made qualifying for the World Cup difficult in the last match and flirts with other teams several weeks before the most important matches, he found him a well-paid job in Brazil. He had failed Sousa – first as a manager and finally as a human. Boniek also failed. First with Brzęczek as the manager, and finally with Sousa as a human.
