This Wednesday, in a match valid for the third and final round of the Eurocup group stage, Portugal faced Georgia at the AufSchalke Arena and was defeated 2-0. Cristiano Ronaldo, who was substituted 21 minutes into the second half, has not yet scored no goals in the tournament. Kvaratskhelia and Mikautadze scored for the Georgian team.
With the defeat, Portugal lost its 100% record in the competition, but still finished the group stage at the top of group F, with six points, and advanced to the round of 16 of the European Championship.
By winning the match, Georgia reached four points, in third place, and also guaranteed access to the next stage after being among the four third best placed in the first stage.
Portugal returns to the pitch next Monday, at 4pm (Brasília time), when they face Slovenia, at the Frankfurt Arena, in the round of 16. On Sunday, also at 4pm, Georgia will face Spain in the Cologne Stadium.

Georgia opened the scoring just two minutes into the first half. After António Silva’s passing error, the Georgians mounted a quick counterattack, Kvaratskhelia dominated on the left wing and crossed the ball, left-handed, to score the first goal of the match.
In the 12th minute of the second half, Georgia increased their advantage. After reviewing the VAR, the referee identified António Silva’s touch on Luka Lochoshvili inside the area and awarded the penalty. Mikautadze took a shot with his right foot, into Diogo Costa’s left corner, and scored the second goal of the game.
Czech Republic vs Türkiye
At the same time, at the Volksparkstadion, in the other match in Group F, Turkey defeated the Czech Republic by a score of 2-1. Çalhanoglu and Tosun scored the goals for the Turkish team, while Soucek scored for the Czechs.
Of the two teams, only Turkey, which finished the group stage in second place, with six points, qualified for the round of 16. The Turks now play against Austria next Tuesday, at 4pm, at the Leipzig Stadium. The Czech Republic, with the defeat, remained with one point, in fourth place, and was eliminated from the European Championship.
