Khabib Nurmagomedov said that the terrorist attacks in Dagestan have nothing to do with Islam
Former Russian mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter Khabib Nurmagomedov made a new statement about the terrorist attacks in Dagestan on his Instagram page (social network banned in Russia; belongs to the Meta company, recognized as an extremist organization and banned in the Russian Federation).
“Some people, under the guise of faith, use Islam for personal gain and earnings, which is contrary to the true principles of the religion,” the athlete said. He called the incident a tragedy that has nothing to do with Islam. Nurmagomedov stressed that not a single Islamic scholar would approve of the terrorist attacks, and all experts in the field of Islam condemn them.
Earlier, Nurmagomedov, commenting on the terrorist attacks in Dagestan, called on people to take care of themselves and their loved ones.
On June 23, militants attacked Makhachkala and Derbent. Against the backdrop of the terrorist attacks, which killed 21 people, a counter-terrorist operation regime was introduced in Dagestan.
