The meeting took place at the Rhein-Energie stadium in Cologne and ended with a score of 0:0. Thanks to this result, the English retained first place in the Group C table.
In the parallel match, the Serbs and Danes also tied 0:0. Thus, the England team qualified for the Euro playoffs from first place in the group, and Denmark, which finished second, also received a ticket to the next stage. Third place remained with the Slovenians, they also made it to the playoffs. The Serbs completed the quartet and completed their performance at the tournament.
Earlier, on June 25, Group D matches were played: the French and Poles ended the match in a draw, and the Austrians defeated the Dutch with a score of 3:2. The national teams of Austria, France and the Netherlands reached the playoffs, and Poland completed their participation in Euro 2024.
