Svishchev: the victory of three Russians in the Stanley Cup is recognition of the school of Russian hockey
The victory of Russian hockey players Sergei Bobrovsky, Dmitry Kulikov and Vladimir Tarasenko in the Stanley Cup as part of the Florida Panthers is recognition of the school of Russian hockey, says Dmitry Svishchev, Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Physical Culture and Sports. The deputy shared his opinion on this matter in a conversation with Lenta.ru.
“Rejoicing that one overseas team won against another overseas team makes no sense from the point of view of any results. From the point of view of the fact that three of our hockey players are participating there, of course, this is a good thing. This is recognition of the school of Russian hockey. Of course, we are pleased that the Stanley Cup winner includes Russians. This is cool,” commented Svishchev.
Previously, three Russian hockey players won the Stanley Cup as part of the Florida Panthers. The team includes Russian goalkeeper Sergei Bobrovsky, defender Dmitry Kulikov and forward Vladimir Tarasenko.
For Kulikov and Bobrovsky, this was the first Stanley Cup in their careers; Tarasenko won this trophy in 2019 with the St. Louis Blues.
