Spain goes to the round of 16 with full victories and Italy accompanies it ‘in extremis’

The Spanish team signed this Monday the full of points within Group B and a pass to the round of 16 of the Euro Cup after winning by a solitary 1-0 to Albaniathanks to an early goal from Ferran Torres.

Spain did not take long to dominate or open the scoring through Ferran Torres. After two warnings in the form of headbutts Mikel Merino and Joselu, Dani Olmo filtered a great pass to the Valencian who defined with quality and crossed against Strakosha.

The second half did not change the script too much, although Albania did want to take a step forward, which did not translate into dangerous occasions.

Italy has achieved the pass to the second round thanks to the goal of Zaccagni in the 98th minute, frustrating the dream of Croatiawho already saw himself accompanying Spain after enduring the entire game with the goal of Modric.

The first half of the match was highly contested, as both teams were playing hard in the last match of the group stage. Even so, and despite several attempts by both teams, they went to the locker room without a goal.

In the second half, the Croatians took the lead early, in the 55th minute, with a goal from Modric to hold on to the victory and defend their area until the end.

But luck has not been with them, and Zaccagni’s goal in stoppage time makes it impossible for Croatia to qualify for the round of 16.
