RBC: Valery Karpin extended his contract with the Russian national team for four years

Valery Karpin extended his contract with the Russian national team. Two sources reported this to RBC.

According to the publication, the agreement with the 55-year-old specialist will last for four years. Sport Express notes that Karpin will work with the national team for only two years.

On June 10, Karpin admitted leaving the national team in the near future. According to the specialist, he has not yet received an offer for a new agreement.

Karpin’s current agreement with the Russian Football Union (RFU) expires in August of this year. Previously, the parties expressed interest in continuing cooperation.

Karpin has been working in the Russian national team since 2021, combining posts in the national team and Rostov. Since February 2022, the national team has not taken part in international tournaments and only plays friendly matches.
