Classified in the round of 16 of the European Championship as the first placed team in Group B, Spain faces Albania this Monday. The duel is valid for the last round of the group stage of the competition. With their life in the group already resolved, the Spanish will take to the field with a mixed team. However, Luis de la Fuente, coach of the Spanish national team, highlighted that Spain must go to the game to win and continue improving in the tournament.
“Tomorrow (Monday) we have a lot at stake: prestige, recognition and the prospect of continuing to improve. We will face the game as if it were our last because we all want to win and that is how we will play”, highlighted de la Fuente.

With the rotation of the Spanish squad, experienced full-back Jesús Navas will gain an opportunity. Despite being European and world champion with Spain, the 38-year-old is a reserve in Luis de la Fuente’s current team. Navas recalled the difficulty of a European Championship.
“I think we are playing very well. We are having fun, but we are humble. A European Championship is difficult and we have to continue with the same idea of going game by game. There is a lot ahead and there will be complicated games to come,” said Navas.
Spain faces Albania this Monday at the Merkur Spiel-Arena, in Dusseldorf, Germany. The match is scheduled to start at 4pm (Brasília time).
