Alex Aranburu is proclaimed champion of Spain on the road

Alex Aranburu (Movistar) has been proclaimed champion of Spain on the road by winning the 201.6 kilometer test held starting and finishing in San Lorenzo de El Escorial.
Furthermore, the Movistar team has rounded off the day with the ssecond place for the also Basque Oier Lazkano. Aranburu entered the finish line alone with a time of 4 hours, 39 minutes and 59 seconds, followed at 52 seconds by his teammate and former champion Lazkano and by Jesús Herrada (Cofidis) who was third at 58 seconds of the victor. Mikel Landa (Soudal-Quick Step) was fifth one minute and one second from the winner and Ander Okamika (Burgos BH) eighth one minute and 8 seconds from Aranburu.
The new champion, 28 yearsachieved his eighth victory as a professional and succeeds Oier Lazkano in the list of winnerswinner of the title in 2023.
On the other hand, the Basque Ander Ganzabal (Laboral Kutxa-Euskadi Fundazioa) has been proclaimed champion of Spain in the elite category road race.
