Ezkurra II-Azpiroz and Urriza-Martirena will play the txapela in the “Erremontari” final

Josetxo Ezkurra and Xabier Azpiroz and Javier Urriza and Ibai Martirena will play the final of the 2024 edition of “Erremontari”, next Monday, June 24, in the Galarreta pediment, by Hernani. Both couples have managed to qualify for the final of the Sagardoaren Txapelketa this Thursday; Ezkurra II-Azpiroz eliminated Aimar Jabalera and Endika Barrenetxea, in two sets, 15-12 and 15-8, while Urriza-Martirena defeated Imanol Ansa and Aritz Zubiri, in three sets, 15-13, 7- 15 and 8-5.
So things are, Ezkurra II-Azpiroz, from Alorreneahave obtained victory in the first semi-final, against Jabalera-Barrenetxea IV, by Oialume Zar. The Colorados have dominated the scoreboard practically since the match began. Josetxo Ezkurra, after the match, pointed out that his strategy was based on playing with a lot of concentration from the beginning, and they have managed to materialize that plan. One of the keys has been the success of Azpiroz’s serve, who, in the first set, scored six points with that play. The result, 15-12 and 15-8, reflects the superiority of the Navarrese couple.
The second semi-final was full of emotion, and was decided in the tiebreaker set, after a very tough clash, in which the four comebackers gave their all. With a brilliant comeback, Urriza and Martirena, by Aburuzahave won the first set, but, in the second, Ansa II and Zubiri, by Bereziartua, they have clearly won. The forward from Pamplona and the defender from Lekunberri were more successful in the final moment of the tiebreaker set, and they took the ticket to the final.
