The incident happened last Wednesday. In an interview for the Uruguayan program For the T-Shirt, Rodrigo Bentancur made a joke after the presenter asked for a Son Heung-min t-shirt. “Maybe I’ll bring one from his cousin. They’re all the same,” he said.
The comment had negative repercussions on social media. Soon after, the Uruguayan player publicly apologized to the South Korean, who responded through his Instagram account.
“I spoke to Lolo. He made a mistake, he knows it and he apologized. Lolo would never have intended to say anything offensive. We are brothers and nothing has changed. We have overcome this, we are united and we will return together for pre-season to fight for our club as one,” Son wrote.
