With a goal in the last play, Serbia draws with Slovenia and stays alive in the European Championship

Slovenia and Serbia faced each other, this Thursday, in the second round of the European Championship, at the Allianz Arena, in Munich. With a goal in the last play of the game, the match ended in a 1-1 draw and kept the Serbian team with a chance of qualifying for the next phase.

With the result, Serbia remains at the bottom of group C, but adds its first point in the competition and goes to the last round with a chance of qualifying for the knockout stage. Slovenia, on the other hand, takes two points and is in 2nd place. The other clash in the group will take place this Thursday, between England and Denmark, at 1 pm (Brasília time).

The two teams return to the field next Tuesday, at 4 pm, for the last round of the group stage. Serbia faces Denmark at the Allianz Arena in Munich, while Slovenia faces England at the RheinEnergieStadion in Cologne.

Slovenia opened the scoring 23 minutes into the second half. After a quick counterattack, Max Elsnik crossed and found Zan Karnicnik, who came free at the second post and pushed it into the back of the goal.

The Serbian draw only came in the last play of the game. From a corner kick, Ivan Ilic hit and Luka Jovic headed to avoid defeat, in the 50th minute.
