Paris Saint-Germain defender Marquinhos is aware that the Brazilian team is going through a moment of transition under new coach Dorival Júnior. Thus, he analyzed the reformulation of Brazil’s squad, comparing it with that also experienced by his club.
“They are cycles, both the Seleção and Paris Saint-Germain. I have already experienced some cycles in my career and we know that time passes and things change, especially in big clubs and national teams. (…) One For him to be a great player, he has to increasingly know how to adapt in these moments.”, said the defender, in a press conference this Wednesday.
“I think that all the players here, even if they are young, are very intelligent players to have come this far, they know how to adapt in the best way and learn as quickly as possible.”, he added.

Speaking more about Brazil’s preparation, Marquinhos classified the period leading up to the Copa América as very positive:
“It was a very productive preparation time, I think especially for the teacher, for us players, seeing a lot of things, testing a lot of things. Speaking of myself, I was able to gather a lot of information. (…) I think for the start of the competition , of cycle, was very favorable.”, concluded the player.
Marquinhos is one of the team’s most experienced players. At 30 years old, he is heading towards his fifth Copa América, having won the competition only once, in 2019. Brazil debuts in the continental tournament next Monday, at 10pm (Brasília time), against Costa Rica.
