For the third and final round of the Eurocup group stage, Germany returns to the pitch on Sunday, at 4pm (Brasília time), to face Switzerland, at Deutsche Bank Park, in Frankfurt. Hungary, in turn, on the same day and time, faces Scotland, again at the Mercedes-Benz Arena, in Berlin.
The Germans opened the scoring in the 22nd minute of the initial stage of the clash. Gundogan was disarmed inside the penalty area, but managed to regain possession after the Hungarian defense failed to clear the danger. So, the midfielder dodged the goalkeeper and passed it to Musiala, who finished. Defender Fiola, on the line, tried to avoid it, but the ball ended up falling into the goal.
Still in the first half, in stoppage time, in the 47th minute, Hungary scored against Neuer’s net. After a direct free kick, the German goalkeeper saved the ball and Sallai took advantage of the rebound. However, after an offside was considered in the play, the Hungarian goal was disallowed.
In the 21st minute of the second half, Germany increased their advantage. After a beautiful exchange of passes in the attacking field, Musiala found Mittelstadt, inside the penalty area on the left. The left-back crossed low to Gundogan, who, with his right foot, completed it into the bottom left corner of Gulacsi, Hungary’s goalkeeper.
