Safonov’s lawyer said that the goalkeeper’s salary will be high even by PSG standards
The lawyer of the Russian goalkeeper of Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) Matvey Safonov, Yuri Zaitsev, spoke about the level of the Russian goalkeeper’s salary in the new club. He shared the information in an interview with the Nobel YouTube channel.
“It’s not as gigantic as the salaries at PSG used to be, but it’s good enough. Even for the level of a French grandee.” – said Zaitsev.
Earlier, Safonov announced his readiness to become the main goalkeeper of PSG. “I don’t position myself as number two. If I start the season on the bench, it will definitely not be easy for number one. Because I’m going to constantly push myself,” the goalkeeper noted, adding that until now he has never lost a competition either in the club or in the Russian national team.
On June 14, PSG announced the transfer of the 25-year-old Russian goalkeeper. The contract runs until 2029. According to insiders, the transaction amount was 20 million euros. Thus, Safonov’s transfer to PSG became a record for the French championship – no club had previously paid so much for a goalkeeper.
