The FSBR Executive Committee unanimously supported the wrestlers wishing to go to the Olympics
The Russian Wrestling Federation (FSBR) supported athletes wishing to go to the Olympics. The president of the organization, Mikhail Mamiashvili, told TASS about this.
“Members of the executive committee unanimously supported our athletes, but it is too early to say that our participation in the Olympics has been finally confirmed,” Mamiashvili said.
On June 18, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) set a deadline for neutral Russians to submit applications for the Olympic Games. According to Mamiashvili, the last day is June 20.
On June 15, the IOC published the names of 14 Russians admitted to the Olympics. There are 10 representatives of wrestling on the list. Two-time Olympic champion Abdulrashid Sadulayev and Tokyo Olympic winners Zaurbek Sidakov and Zaur Uguev were not among them.
