Polish authorities: Russia is to blame for the disruption of broadcasts of the 2024 European Championship in the country
Poland has accused Russian hackers of disrupting the broadcasts of Euro 2024 in the country. This became known from an interview with the Minister of Digitalization of Poland, Pavel Olszewski, to the radio station RMF FM.
“This was a DDOS attack aimed at shutting down a service that allows Polish citizens to watch broadcasts over the Internet. All traces lead to Russia,” Olshevsky said.
According to the Polish minister, the hacker attack began immediately after the starting whistle in the Polish match against the Netherlands. Olshevsky did not provide any evidence of Russian interference.
The Polish national team lost to the Netherlands in the first match of the Euro 2024 group stage with a score of 1:2. The Poles will hold their next meeting with Austria on June 21 at 19:00 Moscow time.
