This Monday, star Lionel Messi revealed that defender Sergio Ramos was the athlete who irritated him the most during his career. The players starred in several classics when the Argentine was at Barcelona and the Spaniard played for Real Madrid. They later played together at Paris Saint-Germain.
“We fought a lot with Sergio Ramos. He is the player I was most irritated with. Afterwards we were companions, but in the classics we always clung to each other. The classics were intense,” he said in an interview with Ready for Everythingthe YouTube channel of his nephew Tomás Messi.
The striker also made a curious statement about his Argentina teammates Nicolás Otamendi, Ángel Di María and Rodrigo De Paul.
“Otamendi is the one who dresses best in the team, Di María is the one who makes the best mates and De Paul is the most disorderly,” he said.

Messi continues his preparation for the Copa América. The competition will be held between June 20th and July 14th, in the USA. Argentina will play the opening game this Thursday, at 9 pm (Brasília time), against Canada, at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium, in Atlanta. The number 10 revealed that his elimination hurt him most from this tournament.
“I remember that at the 2011 Copa América, in Santa Fé, they insulted me in every way. For me and the entire national team it was difficult”, confessed Messi.
On that occasion, Argentina was eliminated in the quarter-finals of the Copa América by Uruguay 5-4 on penalties, after a 1-1 draw in normal time. The 2011 tournament was held in the striker’s country, which made fans even more angry about the failure.
