Russian tennis player Karen Khachanov can still go to the Games in Paris
It became known about the possibility of Russian tennis player Karen Khachanov to go to the Olympics in Paris. This was reported by Match TV, citing a source familiar with the situation.
“Khachanov can still go to the Games, he has a few days to decide. His groin is bothering him, he is thinking and consulting with doctors,” the report said.
On June 15, the President of the Russian Tennis Federation, Shamil Tarpishchev, said that Russian tennis players Rublev and Khachanov would miss the Olympics. He clarified that Rublev needed reinstatement, but did not give additional comments on Khachanov.
28-year-old Khachanov is currently ranked 22nd in the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) rankings. At the Olympic Games in Tokyo 2020, the Russian became a silver medalist, losing in the final to German Alexander Zverev.
