Spain beats Croatia in the European Championship in the first match of the “group of death”

This Saturday, in a match valid for the first round of the Eurocup group stage, Spain faced Croatia at the Olympiastadion, in Berlin, and won 3-0. Morata, Fabián Ruiz and Carvajal scored the goals for the Spanish team.

With the triumph, Spain reached three points and took the lead in Group B. Croatia, after the defeat, occupies fourth place, with no points won. For the other match in the group, Italy and Albania will also duel this Saturday, at 4pm (Brasília time), at BVB Stadion Dortmund, and will define the positions of the “group of death” for this first round.

Spain returns to the pitch next Thursday, at 4pm, at the AufSchalke Arena, against Italy, in the second round of the group stage. Croatia will face Albania on Wednesday, at 10 am, at the Volksparkstadion.

The score was opened by Spain in the 29th minute of the opening stage. Morata took advantage of Fabián Ruiz’s throw between the Croatian defense, beat the defenders with speed and hit low, left-handed, to score the first goal of the match.

The Spanish extended their lead in the 32nd minute of the first half. After Pedri’s pass, Fabián Ruiz dominated at the edge of the area, cut two Croatian markers, moved to his left leg and shot across.

At 47 in the first stage, Spain closed the result. After a short corner, Lamine Yamal dominated on the right wing and crossed. Carvajal anticipated the marking in the small area and managed to finish off goalkeeper Livakovic.
