Commentator Guberniev: the athletes who will go to the Olympics are sports heroes
Russian athletes who will go to the 2024 Olympic Games are sports heroes, said the famous Russian sports journalist Dmitry Guberniev. So, in a conversation with Lenta.ru, he commented on the list of the first Russians admitted to the Olympics, which was previously published by the International Olympic Committee (IOC).
“We should welcome this in every possible way. Those people who will go to the Olympics are sports heroes. We will support them. Anyone who doesn’t understand this is a stupid and complete fool. For such people, Russia means nothing, not only sports, but also, for example, our children who are taking their first steps in sports,” Guberniev said.
For all these people who are now screaming that there is no need to support athletes, for them Russia is an empty phrase

Earlier, the IOC published on its website the names of the first 14 athletes from Russia admitted to the 2024 Summer Games in Paris in neutral status.
The list includes 10 representatives of wrestling, including Shamil Mamedov and Arslan Bagaev, cyclists Tamara Dronova, Alena Ivanchenko, Alexander Vlasov, as well as Angela Bladtseva, who represents trampolining.
The IOC clarified that athletes will be allowed to compete if they accept an individual invitation and sign a document stating the need to comply with the conditions of participation in the Games.
