All decisions made with the help of VAR will be explained in real time in the stadium and for broadcasts of matches during the Euro Cup, announced the president of the UEFA Arbitration Committee, the Italian Roberto Rosetti, in a press conference this Wednesday.
“After the video check, the technical explanation of the decision will be shown on the stadium screens”, explained Rosetti. For example: “Penalty, foul due to hand touch. Germany’s number 9 touched the ball with his left hand, which was in an unnatural position, above the shoulder, expanding his body.”

The same technical announcement will be available to game commentators, who will be able to explain it to spectators.
“I think VAR is a fantastic tool and we won’t go back,” said the manager, explaining that the objective is to “reduce the number of interventions” in video refereeing, but “if there is a clear picture that can prove a clear error, We can thank VAR.”
Furthermore, Rosetti stated that the only authorized dialogue to explain the decisions will be between the field referee and the team captains. Any other player who protests a decision or asks for an explanation will be punished with a yellow card.
For teams whose captain is the goalkeeper (Italy and Slovenia), an outfield player will be designated before the game to represent them.
