According to him, muscles, tendons and ligaments are involved in warming up. “At the same time, the circulation of joint fluid and synovial fluid increases, the nutrition of the cartilage changes, and so on. Therefore, a warm-up is necessary before each workout,” Sautin noted.
The doctor noted that failure to warm up can lead to joint and muscle injuries. “It is incorrect to say that some joints are more or less susceptible to injury. It’s more a question of whether the exercises are performed correctly and what kind of sport the person is involved in,” Sautin added.
