Napoli player Kvaratskhelia became the most expensive football player from the countries of the former USSR
The most expensive football players from the countries of the former USSR in the history of Transfermarkt have been named.
The list was topped by Georgian Napoli midfielder Khvicha Kvaratskhelia. At its peak in 2023, it was valued at €85 million. In second place was the Ukrainian midfielder of Chelsea Mikhail Mudrik, who in 2023 was worth 60 million euros. The top three was completed by former Ukrainian striker Andrei Shevchenko, who as a Milan player was valued at 51 million euros in 2006.
The most expensive Russian on the list was Alexander Golovin. In 2018, the Monaco midfielder was valued at 30 million euros.
Transfermarkt previously published a list of the most expensive Russian football players. Golovin also turned out to be the leader. Next are Krasnodar goalkeeper Matvey Safonov (20 million euros) and Arsen Zakharyan, representing the Spanish Real Sociedad (18 million euros).
