Czech footballer Sadilek will miss the European Championships due to a fall from a bicycle
Twente midfielder Michal Sadilek will miss the 2024 European Football Championship as part of the Czech national team. This was reported on the website of the Czech Football Association.
The organization said that the cause was the football player’s shin injury, which he received on Saturday, June 8, as a result of a fall from a bicycle. Head coach of the Czech national team Ivan Hasek said that Sadilek’s injury weakened the team.
On June 7, Sadilek took part in a friendly match against Malta, which ended in a victory for the Czechs with a score of 7:1. In the second half, the midfielder put on the captain’s armband.
The midfielder was one of seven Czech national team players who participated in Euro 2020. In total, Sadilek has 24 matches and scored one goal for the team.
The 2024 European Championship will take place from June 14 to July 14 in 10 cities in Germany. The Russian national team misses the tournament due to the suspension of the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA). The Czechs will play in the same group with Portugal, Turkey and Georgia.
