Athlete Kulichenko, who changed her citizenship, won the US championship with a record

Athlete Elena Kulichenko, who changed her citizenship from Russian to Cypriot, won the US student championship (NCAA) in Pennsylvania. The results are available on the tournament website.

On her third attempt, the athlete achieved a height of 1.97 meters, setting a competition record. She tied for gold with Rose Yeboah of the University of Illinois.

In September, Kulichenko shared her opinion about the stereotype of stupid Americans. Kulichenko said that there are really a lot of stupid people in the USA who don’t know basic things.

Kulichenko, who competes in the high jump, changed her nationality in 2021, saying the decision brought her great benefit. She is the vice-champion of Russia among juniors, as well as a prize-winner of the European Youth Festival 2017.
